Bank Charges, debt recovery HELP!

I have had an outstanding account with Lloyds TSB for the past couple of years which I have been paying off monthly to the debt recovery company. I have already paid £500 towards it as it was sitting at £1160. This account was originally overdrawn by £54 and the rest of it was all charges which were added on, silly i know. I was on holiday and when I got back I was out of work and it has escalated from there. If I contact Lloyds TSB would there be anyway that I can get the debt removed and not have to pay another £500 of charges as I have already paid £500 charges and really it is a ridiculous amount, I know it is my own fault but it has been going on for so long now I just want rid of it. Can anyone give any advice in what I can do or will I have to pay the other £500..

You can ask them, but don't be surprised if they refuse.

A bit like haggling your bill at Tesco really. :cool:

It is bank charges though it isnt money that I have borrowed from them. It totals up to around £1,000 in bank charges, surely there must be something that can be done about it. I would understand if it was money I had borrowed, with regard to your tesco comment, that is stuff which you have purchased so you would not ask for that money back. This is all charges.
