Bristol Council rejects new boiler application. Alternatives?

Bristol City Council have rejected my Listed Buildings Consent for an urgently needed new heating and hot water boiler, because the gas pipe from the meter in the basement is not big enough to run a new condenser boiler (and they will not permit a new pipe to be fitted, without having to fork out for an architect to draw scale plans of the building).

Unfortunately, British Gas cannot tell me if there is a type of boiler that still can use the 15mm pipe (apparently new boilers need 22mm).

Does anyone know of any new models of boiler where this isn't a problem?

Thanks.

The majority of SEDBUK A& B rated boilers require a 22mm supply pipe. Is this for a combi boiler?
This is to ensure that the gas demand doesn't cause an unacceptable pressure drop, which could be potentially very dangerous.
I suggest that you contact an independent GSR RGI who knows their stuff-i.e. not BG (who will be typically 40% more expensive anyway).
