Evening all :)
I've purchased an item in a quantity of 1000, its 61 short but the seller says because they have a 'disclaimer' notice saying they aren't counted so you may get more or less they aren't going to send any more to replace the missing ones? Would return them but already started using them so I think a negative may be in order as to me its like saying 'buy my item and take your chances' :(

Also says that the smaller quantities are counted out in 100's so why not send 10x100 out? And why try to penalise the people who spend the higher amounts of money?
Really annoyed.

I think because you bought it, already aware and informed it could be short of the total, there isn't much you can do. Not completely sure though. As you said about a negative being in order, I assume you mean eBay, I know you say they have already said they wont send more to replace missing ones but you could try and send them a message to ask anyway, got nothing to lose from asking.

I have and they said no, telling me to look at the 'disclaimer'. Why they sell them in 1000's is beyond me if they aren't actually 1000. Like me selling a dozen roses to someone and saying, well there might be 10 or 11 maybe but tough luck. I would have thought these statements weren't allowed, and wouldn't be so bad but I regularly buy those goods from them too so bad customer service there. Am going to find a wholesaler if possible.
Th other issue is that its listed twice and one has the so called disclaimer and the other doesn't and guess which one i saw

Thank you for your replies, I was unsure if iit was allowed as it would let people short count on numerous items :( Hate it when sellers get the idea that they can dicate to customers outside of their rights, won't be getting my money no more. Just need a blooming wholesaler now :)

Thing is it depends what they are and how they are labelled; stuff packed by weight (eg hardware items; screws, nails) won't always hit the item count. However if I were selling stuff packed by weight I would state that.

In Wilkinson, for instance, some of their hardware is labelled 'approx' contents - picture hooks are approx 5 - if you look carefully you can sometimes get a pack with 6 in!

    Hence my question.

chances are then that they are being 'sort of' reasonable in listing they might be short; however; they also ought to list a buyer might get more...

they would be better listing approximately 1000. 61 is a lot short, though, IMO. My feedback would reflect this.

I can't remember the details, but was told (in a statistics lesson years ago) that there is legislation about how short weight/number things could be and averages etc...

    Ask for a 6.1% discount?

I'd leave a neg stating "seller can't count and won't send out missing 60+ components".
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
