Any threat can be mitigated by ensuring the OS is fully patched and all installed programs are up to date, with older, vulnerable versions of software removed.

Looks like an advert for Bitdefender to me.
If this is an issue, it's an issue with Opera. The ad containing the "malicious code" could appear elsewhere, so it shouldn't only be of concern to Opera users who use the default start page.0
