Realistically, 12 characters is pretty secure especially if it isn't a dictionary word. 20 characters is better, and 63 random characters is pretty unbreakable. The reason I didn't suggest it, is that it is more prone to error, and difficult to get around without a wired connection to reset.

If you want to have a go, I suggest you first of all go into the router config, and backup settings to a file (netgear.cfg), and then if you can't connect after putting the 63 character key in, just reset the router with the switch on the back, and load the previous settings from the file (from the router config screen).

One thing to be aware of is that the https://www.grc.com/passwords generator sometimes generates quotation marks as part of the key, and the router doesn't like them, so if you get any quotes "' in the key, either replace them with another character, or click refresh to generate another one.

Also, see the para starting with "Assuming that everything is working", in my 2 links, to make sure you don't have to type 63 characters in everytime you connect.
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?
