Body Shop Joy Card 2012

I don't think it's really wrong to look through until you find a £15 one but when I looked through them in Boots someone had stolen a card from a magazine at the back of the pile so it's probably fairer to have the codes covered by a scratch off panel.
I've looked through dozens and clearly so have a lot of people as there are only £3 cards left in all the shops near me!
I doubt it would make a difference, I think people would still make some sort of excuse "...they shouldn't have made it so easy for me!" I used to take it as a given that people had ethics and morals, I guess not.0 -
I imagine a lot of cards will NOT get spent, people buy the mag and dont ever bother reading the advert. So I support the MSE shoppers who are canny enough to check thru a pile of mags to get the £15 cards.0

Why shouldn't they, they are buying something not stealing it and how many of anything someone chooses to buy is up to them.
When magazines give away other freebies with a selection of options (eg. different colours of lipstick, or different cosmetics or haircare products) buyers normally pick out the product they want, and no-one bats an eyelid about how many of whatever they choose to buy. - and in some cases the value of the different options can vary a lot.
It's not like a competition where you are rigging the votes, other buyers can still use the internet to find out codes if they are bothered, or be happy to accept that they will get at least £3 if they can't or don't.A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
I agree with the above. When I was looking it was obvious people had already been through the mags, as some had pages torn and some had the cards missing completely.
I found 2 £15 cards and rather than do what other people have done by stealing them out the mags, I bought the copies. It's not like I was selling them on or anything, I used them both for xmas presents and if i hadn't done so the recipients probably wouldn't have got such a good quality gift from me as I wouldn't have been able to afford it.0 -
I just wish I had the chance to get one of the £15 vouchers. I doubt it's even worth me trying after reading this.
I've not had such a good year this year and with prices everywhere going up and up I would have loved to have had a card to shop with, I didn't want to stock up or buy everything, just the chance to shop at all or even to be able to buy a Christmas gift or two for family. Guess I'd been hoping for too much there then.0 -
I really don't see the issue of getting the high value cards. At the end of the day, if you didn't manage to get one, it's a bummer, you missed out - but that's how things work. It's like sale items in stores - if it's a good deal, they go quickly. If you can't get in there and grab one, it's a shame, but oh well. No use complaining about it.Undergrad law student. Take my advice with a pinch of salt! :rotfl:0

Exactly - I couldn't really be bothered to pop into every shop I passed that sells magazines on the off chance I'd find something more than £3 as there's nothing I really want or need from the bodyshop, but I'm not disappointed - and last year I only got a £3 card, but still not disappointed!A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0

I agree- it would be great if this is how it worked. But from what I understand, your chances of ever getting anything other then a £3 voucher are rare if not impossible because some are looking for and taking several of the cards at a time. I wouldn't class it as just "a bummer" if you end up with a low value card, its probably the only possibility.0 -
Essentially this was a mag costing £1.50 with a giftcard of at least a £3 value! I think the higher value cards were very rare. I would have liked one & looked in many mags right from the day of issue, in lots of different shops in the town I live & the city I work in. Carefully, without damaging any and only ever saw the £3 ones. Fun looking tho'! :-)0
