Packing and Removals - Any experience of SimplyRemovals?

Now completion dates are now being talked about (at last!), I've been obtaining removal quotes.

I'm moving from a 2 bed flat (on the 2nd floor, no lift), to a 3 bed house a 5-10 minute drive away. I have a large collection of fragile ornaments I'm concerned about packing myself, so have been getting quotes including partial packing.

Simplyremovals is half the cost of local companies, but has mixed reviews, has anyone any experience of them?

    Mixed reception, mostly good.
Not on Check a Trader as far as I could see.

Personally, unless I had an honest opinion from a trustworthy source I would look for someone on Check a Trader with lots of recommendations and a high score, a family firm not a franchised chain and I would not take the cheapest.

My personal inclination for that distance is to get a firm to move the big stuff and move the delicate stuff yourself. There are few firms who are both cheap and willing to take as much care with your stuff as you are yourself.
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.
