Acpoa 'Parking Enforcement Notice'
Comments

Having had similar happen to me. They will normally cancel the charge if you speak to them and provide evidence of payment by phone. You will need to get a reciept from apcoa connect for the payment which will show the time parking was paid for. then send this (by recorded delivery to be certain they recieve it) or by email, with a scanned copy if they accept this.
whilst i agree that you could ignore it, it may save you a bit of worry if you just get it dealt with.0 -
Well that was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be - a call to apcoa to get my receipt so I could appeal & my notice was instantly cancelled on the phone! Hooray common sense prevails
don't worry I've taken his name & asked for written confirmation
Thanks again everyone for your help.0 -
Sometimes i think that people that have followed the ignore route could have saved themselves a lot of bother by just making contact. If there is a genuine reason for a notice to be cancelled, i cannot see why a PPC would not do it, as it would save them time effort and money. Im sure there are loads of similar instances as this, its just no one writes about them.0

Listen parking companies are run by the modern day Arthur Daley, they don't allow appeals in 99.9 % of the time, the reason we know this is by taking the posts here as an indication of what happens on the whole. Most people who appeal are turned down immediately on here, all they want is money not a sob story, ignoring is a proven tested way to deal with these people, it's just a few letters and maybe calls and that is it.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -

This is only possibly true now, it's a new shift in position for PPCs and only since 1st October, and only in England & Wales where POPLA applies. And only then to PPCs which are BPA AOS members.
The advice to ignore is still very valid in a lot of cases and was CERTAINLY the answer until the end of September because we know from loads and loads of newbies' naive 'appeals' that 99 times out of 100 they used to just get a standard rejection...of course.
Before POPLA, what was in it for them to cancel? Nowt.
But now POPLA applies to many fake PCNs, a PPC is more likely to cancel where it's obvious there is evidence that they'd lose at POPLA (as in the above case).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

True if its a bit dodgy its best for the PPC too cancel now and lose £3 quid then go to Popla and lose £32.0 -
hi
I am readaing these with great interest as I work as a community member of staff for the North bristol trust (NHS). I went to the hospital the other day for a flu jab as I am classed as front line staff. I put a note in my car to say that I was community staff and in occupational Health having a flu jab and they put a parking enforcemnet ticket on my car. I appealed against it and they up held the notice saying that I need to pay the £30.00 in 14 days or pay £60.00. I spoke to a solicitor who informed me that I don't have a leg to stand on I should have paid the parking fee and so will have to cough up the £30.00. any thoughts peoples??????? To say I am angry is an understatment.0 -

thanks for your replies, however I have just found a letter sent to all NBT employees saying this
it has been suggested that quite a number of people have been told by colleagues not to pay because the system is not enforceable.
I am writing now o confirm that the system is enforceable and this letter stands to remind you of that fact and also that the rules of the policy are clear about parking and the consequences of not following the rules.
Please do not be under any illusion that the system is not enforceable. it is, and is successfully operated in other places with the ultimate potential for individuals to have payment pursued though the small claims court.
this came form the Director of Facilities a chap by the name of Simon Wood.
