is there a time limit in which a buyer can open a non received case against me ?, i sold an item 2 months ago for approx £30 and the buyer has just come back now saying he's not received it and is going to contact Ebay, surley he could have told me earlier so i could investigate this ? does he have a leg to stand on ?

When you posted did they give you a receipt? Even if you post by normal first class they normally give you a standard looking receipt, with a coe on so you can track the package online and would be able to see if it had arrived.0

Have a look through their recently bought items.

I had this once, it turned out that the buyer had bought a similar item a little later from a different seller, then emailed me instead of them.
Did they leave feedback for your item?0 -
I had sent the item recorded delivery, which is still saying processing but when i contacted Royal Mail they said as it was aftershave it was not covered and won't refund me, i'm annoyed at the buyer because he has waited so long to let me know, he's not left feedback yet x0

Which might mean that the package has been lost, but could equally mean that it was sucessfully delivered but the postie failed to obtain a signature.
I know that buyers are expected to give a reasonable opportunity for delivery before contacting their sellers, but 2 months is far too long a period to wait before saying anything.0
