in Credit cards
I'm after a credit card that I can build my credit rating back up and that I can use in emergencies or once a month and pay it straight off.
I do have poor credit apparently although I did get car finance in 09, which was when my credit was at its worst!
I had a loan which defaulted in 08 but now paid off I was linked to an ex partner which should have been removed beginning of this year maybe end of 2011.
What card is best for me I've tried the new Luna and got declined but thought I got accepted as I had to sign the online credit agreement!
Just want to build things up what do you suggest?
I do have a loan with a high interest company and stopped paying but I am paying that now and have been for around 3.5 years
So confused just want out this rut now.

Capital one rejected me at some point this year! Barclays I don't think will accept! Just want to be accepted from one to prove I can and will pay it back can I contest any answers these companies give me?0

Sometimes it is better just to try getting a CC from the bank you have your current account with.
That said, store cards, a current account with an overdraft and mobile contracts can help "to build things up" too.0 -

If Capital One didn't offer you a Secure Card things must be bad. Perhaps they were still only trialling them when you last applied?
IIIC, another credit card company offers something similar, which might be an option. Can't remember what it's called off the top of my head. Anyone else?0 -
But I don't understand why it's stopping me0

Aqua are quite good, interest rate (34.9% apr),I have the reward card great for cashback.
Barclaycard do a soft search saving your credit rating from taking a hit.I have the initial Visa(29.9% apr)
I'm self-employed and not on the voters role so quite pleased they entertained me.
*I posted the links but had to edit them out as I'm not allowed to post them as a new user.0 -

You can try applying for different cards and hopefully you will get the approval among them. Some very good suggestions has already been given here.
