When your child finishes college/hits 18, do tax credits cease?

My daughter is 17 and a half, and is at college in her second year and she leaves next June. She take her A levels in May, and gets the results around August next year, and she is going to university around Octobertime.

We get working tax credit and child tax credit for her, and also child benefit, but when will this all stop? We are not hugely well off, and this extra money helps massively. She is planning on going to uni, but won't leave until around October. So if this stops when she hits 18, (which I have heard,) there will be a 5 or 6 month shortfall before she leaves home. So does it stop at 18, or carry on til she goes to uni? Or til the end of the year? or what? :)

Can anyone advise? :)

Child benefit should continue till the first Monday in September
Child Tax Credits will finish when she leaves college I believe
Is she planning on working and contributing between May and October?
You may still get working tax credits depending on your circumstances

the date child tax credit finishes depends on her finish date at college.
Mine stopped the beginning of Sept.
But if they finish college early in the yr they may stop them sooner.
Have sneaky feeling ( so not totally sure) they took her last exam as herb finishing date, which was June at some point, this is why I got CTC for her until 1 sept.

Thanks everyone. So it should continue past 18 for sure then? Seems like the August payment is the final one then. Should just tide us over I guess. :) As I said, I was concerned we would have a big drop in income for at least 5 months til she went to uni.
