Might be a silly Q--for E.O.N rep......

 i recently signed up for the online billing (which i love BTW) and i noticed you can submit meter readings......
My first question is;As i'm now set up online does this mean if i don't submit the figures they will always be estimated?! and that the meter won't be read as i have to do it myself?

Second question; I only recently switched my plan and decided to stay with Eon as the service has always been really good, however, in a letter i have received it says 'as you've been with us for more than 3 yrs we'll thank you with a loyalty reward of £20 if you move to a new tariff' Now, i'm on the cheapest tariff and don't want to switch (as i only switched a few months ago) but i'm still a 'loyal customer'

Do i still qualify for this £20?? as effectively i did switch to a new product and stayed with them 2 months ago!!!!

Any thoughts much appreciated and any Eon rep's help!!!!!

    Hi sistafromanothermista :hello:

Right then, first of all yes you can submit your own meter readings via your online account, it's always best to do it a couple of days before the bill is due, then the bill will be accurate.

If you would like a bill in between bill dates, then enter your reads and request a bill to be produced.

If You would just like a balance update in between bills then you can enter your reads but just ask for the balance not a bill.

We will still read your meter even though you have an online account and if your bill is due and we haven't had any readings from anyone then we will send you an email and ask for them.

We have changed our tariff's and now there's 5 to pick from, the loyalty payments come in with the new tariff's (depends which on you choose, depends what you get)

So you won't get the loyalty payments unless you are on one of these tariff's.

If you are on a cheaper tariff then it may be better to stay as you are until your current plan runs out, then have a look at changing.

I understand what your saying about being a loyal customer, but different tariff's have always had different sorts of benefits.

The supplier is required to read your meter at least every two years, supposedly for safety reasons.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • Ok, thanks for that. Bit of a bum about the £20 but oh well :)
My meter is read every 3 months by the look of things :T
