I'm a veggie who hates cheese but I love pie! I make mini pies and pasties with curried lentil or chilli bean filling or chestnut, green lentil and sage which is gorgeous. The chestnut and sage is really nice and festive - makes a nice change, imo, from the constant stream of goat cheese and other not-very-festive stuff that's usually on offer.
Do you have recipes for any of these?
Don't make me google them myself :rotfl:Can't think of anything smart to put here...0 -

Mushroom Pot Pie

It's easy to adapt with whatever veg you have in too.0 -
Thanks for all the quick replies, so great ideas there. I never thought about doing open topped ones or quiches-I had been going to do quiches and slice them and freeze the slices but the mini thing sounds great. Sister will eat our eggs as we have our own free ranging pampered chickies lol, and I can get veggie cheese.
Like the idea of the mash topping as well and thinking along that line I could do mini hotpots as well-OH loves them.
Going to work on clearing a couple of freezer shelves this week so I can start baking for Christmas so all these ideas sound great. Think I will have to have a test run to try at weekend I think lol.

Fish pie, fish in white sauce topped with mash, also haggis tatties and neeps, and roast beef in gravy with yorkshire toppping. Mince and potatoes. I would be tempted to have the pie cases ready to bake and then as you make family meals over the next few weeks, just make a bit extra and pop it into a pie.0
