Limit increase, credit check?

Hi,

Just a quick question. I tried googling but couldn't find the answer to my exact question.

I have just had my limit increased without asking me and wondered if the credit card company did a credit check?

or do they just base their decision on the one card they have information on (i.e their card)?

Thanks.

  • If you have not asked it probably means they have relied on internal data about how you run the account.

If you request a higher limit some companies do - but as above if the account has been raised automatically it's showing you they like the way your running your account :-)
