I bet they contain silica gel. An alternative is to buy a large bag of silica gel. Make sure you get the indicating type which changes colour when it needs to be reactivated by heating in the oven.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0 -
are you suggesting something like:- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Silica-Gel-Dessicant-Granules-Beads-Self-Indicating-Loose-Multilisting-/140688372885?pt=UK_Packaging_Materials&var=&hash=item66749c8ed4
and then just pour it into suitable containers?0 -
I have tried this type of thing. A walnut to crack a sledgehammer.
I eventually bought an Ebac dehumidifier which has vastly reduced all moisture problems.Forgotten but not gone.0 -
weve already got the dehumidifier, these were additional moisture traps in cupboards / inside the divan base etc - moisture largely under control, this was as an extra precaution / safeguard so looking for a cheap solution / option.0

Try these

Got to be honest I don't like them and think they are a bit of a gimmick
My preferred solutions are to control the condensation problem to the full property with controlled ventilation
BUT if you have a very localised problem they might do some good

Yes. I use silica gel that comes with computers to protect my camera and lenses. You can buy it in porous sacks, so no need for a container, just put the sack of gel in the cupboard.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0 -
We've been using these in the fitted wardrobes in our spare room for a few years http://www.lakeland.co.uk/21538/Moisture-Trap
Probably a bit bulky for your purposes but they are very effective (or rather the crystals are), easily drained and are refillable.0
