Sarabec Amplified telephone

I've just taken delivery of an amplified telephone from a company called SARABEC. It's an Amplicomms PowerTel 60 Plus, billed as just about the loudest phone you can buy.
I set it up according to the manual, but there's no amplification at all. In fact my old non amplified phone is louder!
I emailed SARABEC and they said to make sure the batteries were inserted correctly, which they were (although it's a corded phone) but still nothing. There's a red LED light alongside the sound boost button which should light when the boost is used...and doesn't.
The phone's display is working but the phone's useless to me without amplification - I can't even get the ringtone any louder.
Am I doing something wrong or do I just send the phone back:mad:

What you are doing wrong is not sorting out the problem with the supplier. They, not us, are best placed to fix the problem.0

Yes I know. I've emailed the company three times today and been ignored. So the reason I'm asking is in the hope that someone else has this model phone and can possibly point out some error I might've made in set up.
Is that ok with you??0
