Help with my laptop please?

hello :)

I have a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pro laptop and everything has been fine up until today! used it last night, everything was fine, shut it down normally etc. Came to turn it on today and all it does it bleep at me! it has a black screen, whirrs a bit but carries on bleeping! The battery light comes on and the network light but nothing happens :( does anyone know what this means/if i can fix it? (sadly i presume its a hardrive failure)

    How many beeps is it, slow or fast? I sometimes get 6 beeps on the PC because the memory has come loose and needs pushing back in.

    A friend recently sold his Fujitsu Siemens laptop on ebay because he had the exact same problem. Apparntly it is a very common problem with FS laptops. The buyer contacted him a few days later to say he had fixed it (i think he was expecting to get an offer to buy it back - lol) anyway yeh the problem was the memory on the motherboard had become unseated, quite difficult to get to but an easy fix if you put the effort in.
