2011 vs 2012 gas average monthly kWh, based on meter readings:
May (2.52 vs 3.41)
June (1.57 vs 2.17)
July (1.26 vs 1.55)
August (2.52 vs 4.96)
The usage is probably really low in overall terms; Feb/March/April this year was 42/34/26 kWh/month, but I recall this spring was very cold. I just couldn't figure out why the increase in the summer.
The Feb figure of 42kwh would only cost you about £2 or less, did you not have the heating on in Feb? ours was on well into April this year.
And your summer figures are extremely low, the 4 months you quote this year total 12kwh at a cost of about 48p. So 48p to heat water for 4 months, I wish.0 -
The cold fill washing machine could have mistakenly been attached to the hot tap...
Also if your meter reads have been at different times in the year, they may have simply attributed your use wrongly through the year - or was the previous year based on estimates?0 -

I suspect you're right. I'm a little confused by the Eon energy tracker, I must admit. On the vertical axis it says average daily kWh consumption, but then a pop-up on each monthly bar in the bar chart tells me the total kWh used which I've assumed is for the whole month, unless that total is also the average per day. I think I may have made a blooper"Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000 -
Don't take any notice of the Eon Energy Tracker as it is just not accurate. I was with eon and got quite obsessed about it once and spoke with Eon on a couple of occasions. Mine went up and down like a yo yo!
I came to the conclusion it is just a gimmick and quite a misleading one at that.0 -
Don't know about the E.On tracker, but it's easy enough to work out your average from your latest bill or statement. Just divide the kWh for the period covered by the number of days. If you're on a tariff with a standing daily charge, even the number of days is conveniently worked out for you.

Hi Tiglath
The Energy Tracker is only meant as a guide. It aims to give an indication of how your usage is going compared to the previous year.
For accuracy, best to rely on meter readings.
We are looking to improve the accuracy of the tracker in the future but no firm date on this yet I'm afraid.
