5 weeks, no mortgage offer, agent is getting twitchy

Don't be reluctant - you're the customer, you're paying for a service. If they're being that crap you should be on the phone to them every day.
Probably receiving more applications than they can physically handle.
Depending on product applied for maybe trying to defer the application as well. As lenders only have a set allocation of funds every month.0 -

If they has asked for everything at once I would have been able to submit it all quickly. It is soooo frustrating - especially since they could do all this then say no! My agent is now ringing me every few days chasing up progress. I am supposed to be completing next Friday as I wanted to get the keys and get workmen in to start work whilst I go away for 6 weeks. If the delays continue I can't complete until I return which may lose me the house. I hate bankers
Im in exacly the same position with Abbey, they requested aload of info two weeks ago (15 days after it was first submitted) we sent within the day. Heard nothing despite my intermediary chasing them daily, they have come back today requesting contracts of employment... despite the fact they already have 4 months pay slips, P60's and bank statments showing wages going in.
My seller is not happy as we (on the advice of solicitors and intermediary!!) promised a fast completion and 4 and a half weeks have passed and we still havent the mortgage sorted!!!0
