You certainly can't download it free! Contribute was just some software which allowed multiple people to update pages of a website made with Dreamweaver. There are a few Dreamweaver-alikes, none particularly good (like Kompozer).
But presumably you have the completed website in HTML?0 -
Looks like you can only buy the latest version - 6.5
Students and teachers get a big discount.. otherwise it's about £2400 -
Only info I have is that we need this programme to operate the business website - hopefully forum members will have a solution! :T0

It is likely the new version will be backwards compatible. I use to use Contribute 2 a long time ago.
You can always download a demo and try it out to see if it works. £240 is cheaper than hiring a web developer0 -
It's a website. You don't need a specific program to 'operate' it! You need someone who understands HTML.
Contribute is sort of / partially a cms system, so while you don't "need" it, its potentially part of your operation strategy.
A ftp client is fine for one or two people, but if you have more merely tracking what people are publishing is task in itself.
If your in a large company where you have reviewers and approvers (where whatever you're publishing need to go though some sort of workflow), your ftp client really does not cut it anymore.
Websites these days are large pieces of software themselves with a good chunk of their code base involved with operation and management.
I would not expect anyone to run a pure html site except where its pretty small.
Macromedia, that's a name I have not heard in a while they were bought by Adobe 6-7 years ago.0
