  • On a serious note, the reference we are getting is a reference which states income however undeclared, which if they dont check further than a reference surely its no harm - its which carried out but for a friend 3 weekends a month.

Please do note that we have a reference from full time employer but to get the amount we require we do need to try and add additional income on if possible.

To get on the ladder as first time buyers it is so difficult now ! and to get over the 100% mark
  • Its 'no harm' as long as you continue to receive the extra income. What happens when it dries up? You can't afford the mortgage, you start missing payments and you credit goes t1ts up... again. At this point maybe you could find someone to lodge a mis-selling complaint against since it won't be your fault... Why don't you just buy a house you can afford, or save up some deposit? Both can be done, if you can be bothered...

When we applied for our mortgage, we had to provide 3 months bank statements for the account/accounts that our monthly salaries are paid into. They then checked that this tallied with our employer's reference. So, be honest, explain the situation, find a lender that will work with you to understand your finacial situation and to find a solution that suits everyone.
  • They have bank statements already at NR - ITS SUCH A BATTLE !! X

    Angelandrea,

Following on from your other thread on the same subject:

You are looking at a 125% Northern Rock together mortgage. You will have to evidence ALL income declared by payslips.

They will not accept an employer's reference alone as you could have written it yourself and faxed it back.

At 125% they will only accept income from permanent employment, with proveable second income only able to be used at 50% of it's value as I stated in your other thread.

You cannot simply declare more income if you do not have payslips and evidence to back it up.

I don't think they would be allowed to discuss your details with the tax office without your consent due to the Data Protection act.

They are usually happy to accept a statement from your employee, who provides details of your earnings. Sometimes they also ask for three month's worth of payslips.

Are you sure you want to mislead them though, the checks are put in place for your protection as much as theirs to make sure that you don't overstretch yourself.
They are not likely to go to the inland revenue without asking your permission however that doesnt mean they couldnt, when you signed the form they were given permission to make any checks they see necessary and they can report you if they suspect you are on the fiddle.
DD is right Do you really want to mislead them? The penalty's are severe. They have the ability to pass info over to other lenders and you could end up with a CIFAS report which is far more serious than any default

Well what is it then if its not declared?

Has it ever occured to you that the problems you are having now follow directly from your cavaleir attitude towards paying money where it is due (both past credit issues and tax dues).

I would not lend over a £100k of my money to someone who has previously not met their obligations and does not seem to even understand their legal responsibility to declare income to the IR. Maybe I'm just old fashioned!

Don't complain about the reaction to this opening post - it suggests that you are actively wanting to defraud a lender.

"not exactly gospel" means that you are trying it on!
