Hi Angela, i'm not 100% sure, so others may be along soon that are. But I would say that in my opinion yes checks will be performed. They would hardly lend you xxx amount of thousands without checking your income first.0

i guess it needs to be declared ??
why would they check if they already have work reference ??0 -
I don't think they would be allowed to discuss your details with the tax office without your consent due to the Data Protection act.
They are usually happy to accept a statement from your employee, who provides details of your earnings. Sometimes they also ask for three month's worth of payslips.
Are you sure you want to mislead them though, the checks are put in place for your protection as much as theirs to make sure that you don't overstretch yourself.Mortgage Free in 3 Years (Apr 2007 / Currently / Δ Difference)

It's a long time since we got our mortgage appllication agreed for this house, so it's all a little sketchy, but if I remember rightly they asked for your current P60's which shows all your income(s).
If you are talking about any *other* work for which you may earn money, whatever it may be, I am unsure whether they would include these monies unless they have been declared to the tax office.0 -
its such a stressfull time, with the mortgage going in a siungle name instead of a joint one as i have defaults, which have just been paid off werhoooo !!0

you can get very good fake P60 and computerised payslips from the internet for about £50. and you will probably get a nice cheap home in HMPI like to give people as many choices as possible to do what I want them to. (Milton H Erickson I think)0

On a less sacrcastic note and an attempt to be genuinely helpful, you cannot declare income above what you actually earn ona mortgage application. Its classed as fraud and people can and do go to prison for it. Not jsut that, you would never get another mortgage again. Please do not do it, take it on the cheek about the defaults and take a joint mortgage - a decent adviser would be able to ensure you got the best rate available to you without you having to resort to dishonesty.
Good luck
