I use Firefox & overnight it seems to have installed something called babylon as my default search engine.
I don't like it, I don;t want it & it's driving me crazy. I want my good old fashioned google search back.
I have managed to get it to show google as my homepage, but every time I open a new tab, it is this babylon thing again.
Have tried to uninstall the programme, can only find a programme for the toolbar but it won't go away.
Any suggestions?

will that stop it happening again?0 -
No, that will just remove it.
To stop it happening again you need to pay attention when installing software that bundles extras such as the Babylon toolbar.
Read EULA's and uncheck any pre-checked options for "extras" in the downloads as you go through the installation process.0 -
Which may mean selecting the Advanced or Custom option from the installer.0

Yep, will do. I have turned off all the automatic updates and will keep an eye on anything that pops up.

Windows automatic updates?
This won't install through Windows updates - More likely 3rd party freeware.0 -

- In Firefox click on Help > Firefox Help (you may have to click on the Firefox button first if you haven't got the menu bar showing)
- Removing the Babylon toolbar is the third one in the Hot Yopics list
- Follow the instructions therein
