Sale of Goods Act for Insurance Replacements

Does anyone know where I could find info on the Sale of Goods Act relating specifically to replacement goods under insurance policies? I have trawled through a lot of sites but can't find anything referring to insurance.
I have a mobile phone which was replaced through my insurance policy and has developed faults after around 5 months. They say they have only a 28 day repair/replacement policy on any handsets they supply. Struggling to find any official documentation to argue with them...

You didn't buy this phone from your insurance company, so SOGA is unlikely to apply."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Did you buy it from a retail shop. If you did, your contract is with them.
If it is under guarantee, take it back with your reciept.
Leave the insurance out of the equasion, it has nothing to do with them.
The shop has the option to repair, replace or refund.
If they wont comply, tell them you are going to speak to trading standards.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Thanks for the replies. Do you knoe if that is what the law states? It seems odd that anything replaced through insurance does not have a warranty. It is just over a year since the contract was taken out, so the original handset would be out of warranty, but I imagine the retailer wouldn't help, as this is not the same handset they supplied. Maybe I am wrong with this assumption, I suppose i would like to know where I can find official legislation that explains it clearly. Any help is appreciated
