My boiler isn't heating the hot water

In the evenings recently (since the weather has warmed up) my new boiler (installed Dec 2006) is not switching on when it should to heat the ater. The timer light is on but the boiler itself isn't kcicking in and heating the water. If I adjust the room termastat so that the heating comes on then it does heat up. However I don't really want my radiators on at 30 degrees in order to have hot water. No problems in the morning with it but then the radiators are still coming on then...

Any ideas what is wrong?

Do I need to call the installers back to have a look at it?

Thanks

had the same problem a year or so ago, the demand sensor had failed in the boiler, yours will be fine as its under warranty

I can't believe it has gone wrong so quickly!

So would it only effect it in the evenings? Or when the radiators don't come on as it seems to work fine if the radiators are on?

I have a similar problem with my boiler. It works great on heating (apart from the fact that the timer doesn't work) but takes ages heating the hot water for the sink in the bath. The odd thing is that the water coming out of the mixer tap on the bath in the same room is fine! It comes out nice and hot, but the hot water in the sink can run for ages before it even gets lukewarm! But if I turn the heating on at the same time, again, it works fine. Odd.

Do you have something like this next to the hot water cylinder?

or is there a thermostat attached to the hot water cylinder?

No I can't see anything like that on the cylinder or any thing that looks like a thermastat.
