I thought the same so was surprised to see a lot of people in that thread praising it.
I had a look for any feedback on the 007dailydeals site but it looks like they only launched a couple of months ago, all I could find were several posts on a budget computer programmer freelancer forum from the business' owners asking for various things to be created 'similar to Groupon' https://www.elance.com/e/007dailydeals/0 -
I've gone for it. Thought I would give it a go. Can't be bad for that money and a nice pressie. Wish me luck0

If it's really reduced by that it may be a bargain but when i see things like this it reminds me of the reductions in price of double glazing or 3 piece suites. They always have a sale on.
Before you pay out see what is out there for free on YouTube.

Yeah, I did some googling and in the absence of any mention of the site or organisation on Google decided not to risk it!0

I found a Facebook page which looks quite active: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Institute-of-Photography/345673068848867
This also looks promising: http://www.institute-of-photography.com/about-us/. At least it's a real person you can email.
I'll keep you up to date anyway - I hope get my voucher from 007 deals! Fingers crossed.0 -
I've decided to go for it and have purchased the deal. It took about an hour for the code to come through and it looks ok to me. It's for a Christmans pressie but I'll give the Institute a ring and come back and report any issues.0

I searched for the IoP website - I found only one and it is based in Dublin. I checked out their courses and could find no on-line courses listed. I emailed IoP to ask about the 007 Daily Deals voucher offer to see if it was valid. They replied saying they do not do on-line courses and said the voucher offer had nothing to do with them. I still have the email. Has anyone managed to speak to anyone at the IoP or have they found a different address for them? This was the contact info on the bottom of the email

Reading through that first thread on the photography website there seem to be two business trading with that name, one an actual physical business which you've contacted and the other an online teaching business, possibly named after the other in a bid to sound a bit more credible.
From what I can see the course looks legitimate the only question was over the 007dailydeals site which seems a new site with little feedback online.0 -
If you want a very good and very reasonable online photography course then I recommend http://www.feelgoodphotos.co.uk/blog/
I've done a couple of hers and they are really good and get you out there using your camera in different modes.
I've just signed up for her free 12 days of christmas course but not sure if its still open.0 -
How Everyone. Well I got my voucher code and used it and have been welcomed by the institute. This is their website http://www.institute-of-photography.com
