What savings does a condensor boiler give...are they worth the money?

Depends how old/efficient your existing boiler is.
A condensing boiler may have an efficiency of about 90%, I believe this can depend on what temperature you have the boiler set at.
A very old boiler can be as low as 65%, so the savings can be had.
However bear in mind that if your existing boiler is working OK and that you will have to pay possibly £1500 to £2000 ish to change then it will take a long time of savings to get that back.0 -
Are the 'worth the money'?
If you do have a new install, you have no choice. Condensing boilers have to be fitted for all new domestic installs, with very few exceptions. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Don't expect your gas bills to half - they aren't magical
It takes a very long time to recoup the cost. From what I've seen you might save around 10% per month if its setup correctly and the right size for the house.
I've read some posts here saying they actually cost more - probably oversized or not set up right.
I turned down the stat on my parents worscter 30 so it actually condensed and it used around 15% less gas0 -
We are about to exchange on a property that has one so was just wondering whether they are worth the money paid and whether they make a huge difference. I have budgeted our utilities based on my mums (same size house, same area) so I guess any extra saving is a bonus!0

I don't understand what you mean by 'worth the money paid?
You don't pay any extra for a condensing boiler, because for a new install that's all you can have.
If your new property already has one, you get the benefit without any cost. If you don't, then ripping out a properly working conventional boiler would be economic insanity, since it may take you 10 years or more to recover the costs.
Obviously if gas prices were to double, then that expenditure would be recovered more quickly. No free lunch, and no free laptop
