it would appear you are an employee not self employed so you have mightily confused yourself. Claiming expenses from your employer has nothing to do with the 2,500 limit and SA returns for the self employed.
Your employer is required to submit a P11D on your behalf, that should be the end of it for you ASSUMING that none of the expenses are taxable?0 -
I've started the whole self assessment for a rebate on my tools.
It's a pain in the !!! to fill one out, it has so many pitfalls on it that even HMRC couldn't help me with it's a joke.0 -
I understand now. Since my expenses are non-taxable (business travel only), then there is nothing else I need to do. Sorry for hijacking the thread.0
