firefox freezing

in Techie Stuff
when i open firefox (2.0.0.3), it freezes and i have to close it via task manager. i have rebooted the computer and it still freezes. i installed tightvnc and thought that would be the problem, so i uninstalled tightvnc and firefox still froze.
i have windows xp and this has only started tonight.

Have you installed any add ons?
You could try creating a new profile (run firefox -p) and see if that freezes0 -

it was a corrupted profile, as i reinstalled it and it still didn't work. i uninstalled it and deleted the profile, then reinstalled it and it now works0
