Great buyer!

We seem to get a lot of moans about rip off buyers so I thought I would post about a buyer.
I sent some china, well packed but two items were damaged on arrival, buyer emailed me so I said I would do a partial refund and he said not to bother as he was very happy with the goods and these things happen. He also left great feedback.
So there are still some great people out there.

I've had buyers like that as well. I've refunded in full for a damaged item only to have someone try and refund part of the refund on the basis that they might be able to save part of it. I've also had 2 buyers this year pay me again after having got a refund as their goods arrived. One of them was a £20+ item that went to Australia and she gifted the paypal payment to me a month later.
    (is gifted a word?)

I've had gifts from buyers and last year a Christmas card from a US buyer of a cult line I was selling.

I'm sorry to sound harsh, but whenever I see a thread like this, the inference is here sometimes is that nice buyers don't go chasing refunds for things that are the seller's liability. It gives out the wrong idea for less scrupulous people here (e.g. the thread about the missing coat). I've had nice buyers who have let me know when there's a problem, but they have always accepted a refund/part refund. Is that 'nice' too?

It's nice that they accepted the issue of broken china - and it was good of you to offer the refund - but don't forget they don't have to and are not necessarily being 'nice' by forgoing a partial refund. I would personally speaking do it anyway - just to make sure I was a nice seller.

  • I think they are nice when they pay you lots of money for something you think is worthless, and then leave you glowing feedback about their bargain!! I just need a few more of these.
