    Hello Everyone,

For those of you who don't know me my name is Scotty and me and my partner plan on reducing our wasted food and stop being so luxurious with it too by spending £1 a day for a year on it.

We have also been in a process of building our own veg patch (which is doing very well hope to have stuff to eat in Spring) and reduce everything we use and want.

    Today has hit me hard.

I had 2 tanks one is a 45 gallon 4ft marine tank and ones a 50cm fresh water one. They do not really require much electricity to keep them going maybe about 8p per day which would be like £268.80 for 10 years that's not taking into account the cost of electricity inflation and water changes needed max every 2 weeks costing £2 a time £480 for 10 years. £749 for 10 years.

OK now it doesn't look so bad but it's not NEEDED. I needed the £100 toward paying off some debt I'm getting out of for good!

I just didn't think that I would have such feeling of loss. I look at the pictures I used on Ebay and it brings me to tears now they have just come and taken away my babies.

Have any of you had a similar situation where you have had this same feeling from having to give something up to be better off financially?

It's a huge shock all that brainwashing the system puts you through to make the general public how they are... WANTY WANTY WANTY. It takes time and pain and effort to step away from it and revert to only having what we need and being ok by that but I know in all it is very rewarding.

Mine and Philips main goal is to move to Ecuador on farm land, create local jobs on the farm and let them take what they wish to sell on markets or for their family so long as we have enough to live on too. Be self sustainable and live with the least possible amount of money we can. That's long term but best to start now to prepare ourselves hey?

Anyway I just thought I'd have a rant and I'm kinda hoping someone out there will reach out their hand and say "it's OK kid I know how it feels you will be ok".

    Thanks for reading everyone.
    Scott Thompson

Its OK Kid I know how you feel, it will be OK. If its meant to be, it will be.

    in the last two years I have lost my Dad, my Son, my best friend. my Mum, and a much loved Brother (who didnt die but got so greedy and grasping that I can never feel the same way again}

Love your plan for Equador, got room there for a granny, who would love to be part of something like that. I am tempted to say God Bless but I cannot beleive in a God now,so can I just say Good Luck love, hope it works out for you.

Honestly, there has been so much that we have had to give up over the last few years, some things harder than others.
    It does get easier though.
Also I don't think you forget how you feel when you give up something very significant to you and it can really help to serve as motivation to stay on track with the finances and to not get into the same kind of trouble again.
    Chin up.

It is sad when you have to give things up you love, whatever they are. I had to give up a lot to retire and look after my OH. It wasnt the job I miss, god knows it was hard work, it was the people and the big change in life. But we get through and replace what was with what is and grow stronger. I know I would hate to get rid of something like that.

I just wanted to say although I am deeply sorry I can not respond to everyone individually that I am most thankful for everyone who has replied here and showed some support.

I'm moving on with it now. Funn the next day he said it had been repaired and I didn't mention that.... I didn't know and he checked it in person before taking. Then asked me to pay £30 out of the £99.99 he paid for it to repair it again. When I said no he said I did everything to screw him out of money. Which was rubbish I didn't even want to let them up! and the whole lot was worth more like £300.

Anyway we still have our rescue dog she's a staffy cross collie and we have taken on a kitten 5 week ago who couldn't find a home. They are our children though. We wouldn't give them up. They would eat before we would.

Just keep moving on. I know everyone is struggling at the moment and damn the world wouldn't be a very enjoyable place if everything was just easy all the time. Having said this doesn't make it right for some of the unnecessary pain people have to go through.

Humans hey? 250,000 years in the making and we still cause eachother and ourselves such grief. :P
