I don't know if anyone saw this earlier but it basically depicted a landlord taking over a number of properties and evicting tenants the same day (citing breach of contract - making alcohol being one such example) by forcing entry and removing the tenants (over the shoulders of the stereotypical, thug-like bailiffs). Former tenants were then forced to bed down in the local community centre with whatever they could carry.
It may only be a soap-opera, and a pretty poor one at that
, but the ignorance of the program makers was pretty shocking (and I'm not a renter).

If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor...

Are they still showing River City? I remember that when it started, didn't think it would last 6 months.
Why do you say the programme makers were ignorant? There's plenty of slum landlords that act in flagrant disregard of the law and employ heavies to forcibly evict tenants whenever they feel like it.poppy100
