This lot sent a letter to my OH introducing themselves and "offering" their services as they had noted that he may have recently had a CCJ issued against him.
When he called them to find out how they got his details, they told him that they'd purchased the right to access his details from the court.
Surely this is against the DPA, he was absolutely outraged (and so was I when he told me) that they'd managed to obtain his details seemingly from the courts.

It's a matter of public record, surely.
If I am convicted of murder, my name is published. And not just criminal offences - if I get married or divorced it's publicly available information.0
