Best budget compact camera

Hope one of you can help me. My mum is after a digital camera for Xmas and have no idea where to start.
She is a complete novice and will only use it to take pictures of the grand kids and on holidays etc. she will print pics in boots so will need memory card and would prefer it to be rechargeable rather than batteries. Willing to spend up to £100 but preferably about £60 ish.

If just after a simple point and shoot camera, then something like nikon coolpix L25 for about £40 (does use AA bateries though) Or Fuji FinePix JV300 for about £55.

At that price, you could then buy a SD card and case to keep it safe in.

£100 samsung MV800. Expensive when it first release. But for £100 now, it is good value for money.

£70 Panasonic FS40. There are plenty of cameras with similar spec in price range, choose this mainly based on my preference on panasonic's camera interface.

£60 Ricoh PX. Good price if you after something waterproof and stock proof.
