Mint and Egg positive (+ve) balances

If my Mint and Egg credit cards have a significant positive balance (e.g. NOT using the credit limit), what approach can I use to get that cash without any fees?

I'm happy to close the Mint card, if that happens would they send a cheque of the balance?
Egg (green) card I'd like to keep - would phoning them create a BACS transfer and thus no fee?

Need ideas please. Thanks.

With mint you can do a 'money transfer' to your bank account. There's no charge for this . :j

Similarly with Egg, phone them and you can get them to transfer it to your bank account.

That sounds great. Thanks. I will call them end of the week.

    Hi napoleon,
I just called Mint. They said no straight away. They will only return the +ve balance back to the original credit card. I don't want to do this (waste of 0%). I said I'll call back later. What should I do there?

With Egg, I've sent a secure message - Am waiting for action.

Try sending you Mint positive balance to EGG then on to your current account. Might work if you get the responce you are looking for from Egg?

did you say "money transfer"? If you didn't they might not know what you're referring to, look at the back of your statement and see the mention of money transfer. Although I think you can only do half your credit limit each month.

For Egg, don't send a secure message, phone instead. They charged me by mistake and it took weeks to get it back. Better to phone and avoid the chance of this happening.

Yes yes! A significant positive balance in an Egg Money Card account is a wonderful thing to behold, especially if you have an Egg Savings account.

Send a secure message to request the positive Egg Money Card balance to be transferred into the Egg savings account, and from there it is childs play to withdraw the funds to any account.

Then sit back, and in about March next year watch out for 1% cashback landing in the Egg Money account :-))

Thanks guys. The Egg (green) one is now sorted. They confirmed over secure message that they did an "internal transfer". I wrote back and they confirmed again that there will definitely be no charge.

The Mint issue is still outstanding. I think I will just keep calling and ask for that "money transfer" specifically.

I do now have an Egg Money card (got the same time as the 0% offers), but these issues with Egg and Mint were the result of my own mistakes. Thankfully I have half way recovered from them.

An idea, I don't really need my Mint CC anymore. If I ask to close the account they will have to return the balance to me, either my BACS or cheque or otherwise?

Yes, they'd have to send you a cheque. There's no way around that.

Could you not just spend on it until it's all gone, and let the money you are not spending in your current account earn the interest?
