Pdf to jpg

Hopefully someone can help with this.

I've been sent a pdf containing a load of images that I'd like to save as individual jpgs. Is there an easy way to do them all at once? I've tried a couple of freebies from the internet, but they put text across the images saying the name of the programme, which isn't much good.

Thanks

You could try zamzar.com, that does an on-line conversion from and to many different formats, you'd have to experiment as to whether it would extract the images in a usable format. I've done quite a few pdf to doc extracts, but not with images.

There are many online converters but the problem you have is extracting multiple images from just one pdf file. The software would need to be able to identify each image on the pdf and extract it seperately which is unlikely. Just converting the one pdf file to one image that contains all the images is straight forward.
  • Can you not request to the person who sent you them to send them as jpegs? Or is there a reason they have sent them as a pdf?

You can use the free GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP) to do this. Just make sure that when you install it you tick the "Postscript" option.

Just make sure you select to open as Images not Layers and that you pick a sensible resolution, which will vary depending on the content of the PDF and the purpose you have for converting them to JPEG. 75, 150 and 300 are typically good values to choose.
