Anyone got any experience of KwikFit car insurance?

KwikFit have shown up as by far the cheapest on Gocompare (incidentally, why doesn't Martin's guide to comparing car insurance mention Gocompare?). They come out at £165. The second company is over £200 and the rest are £200 - £260, with my current company (Swiftcover) asking £293 for renewal. I haggled today with Swiftcover and they reduced their asking price to £273 - not good enough.

However, are KwikFit any good? Swiftcover have been perfectly good. Most stuff can be managed and amended (for free) online, and when we had one non-fault incident they were professional and quick.

KwikFit are offering a free MOT for new policyholders. I also see that £42 cashback is available via Topcashback and Quidco. I expect these two are mutually exclusive, though that is speculation. However, I have heard of people having cashback rejected because they first received a quote through Gocompare, and then went through a cashback site (even though they may have cleared cookies, etc., Gocompare/KwikFit have retained the information).

They were cheap for one year. I never claimed so cannot comment on the service.

But the renewal came in at double the price. I phone to query.. They said it was cheaper last year to gain customers.
Whats the point of gaining a customer but not trying to retain them?

I went with direct line after. Was with them for 10 years before i went with my current club insurance.
