My wife died of a DVT on 12/10/12 charity help

Hi my wife died of a DVT while bringing our 3 young children to school she collapsed outside of school she was only 32.I am running the Liverpool half marathon in March to raise awareness of DVT and to also keep my mind busy while the children our at school .We have 3 girls aged 9,7 and 4 and it has been extremely difficult i havent ran since school so it is going to be very hard but want to make my wife and kids proud of me if anyone can help by putting the link on their facebook or twitter or even to donate i would be very grateful...I will be running for Lifeblood charity and the memory of my wife Lesley.

  • Hi, sorry for your loss - and well done for taking a positive step & fundraising in memory of your wife.

    I work for a young widows charity The WAY Foundation (wayfoundation dot org dot uk) which has been a godsend for me since my husband died 4 years ago, when I was 32. It is primarily a self-help support network for anyone who has lost a partner under the age of 50, but I know many of our members have small children who, when they go along to meet-ups, form their own little support network to help them deal with their loss too.
