if you have MS publisher, use that to design a leaflet, just using black and white, photocopy onto coloured paper, maybe fitting 4 per page and get some funky scissors to cut them out with e.g. jagged edges.Yes Your Dukeiness

Sorry cant help on actual leaflets\flyers but what I would suggest is putting a leaflet in any sheltered housing kind of places. If a pensioner is starting to need help then the private companies charge them a fortune, if you have like a discount thing for pensioners then you could get a lot of regular work.
edit to add : also leaflet drop at bungalows in your area.0 -
Call Kwik and similar companies are pretty cheap for proper flyers. However, if you want a cheaper version you could try your local school (don't laugh).
My mum runs a reprographics department in a secondary school and she offers cheap flyer production and printing services to make a bit of money for the school as well as putting the equipment they have to maximum use. Worth a try!0 -
Check out the classified section of your local newspaper.
I used to work for a Car hire company and the majority of our business came from these ads!

I forgot - the local parish magazine is a great place to start too - really cheap adverts going to people who are involved in a community and tend to spread the word. Good 'bang for buck' if you advertise and you can keep it local then.0

Good idea Eagle_1 - didn't know they did free listings.
However with small businesses, word of mouth is definitely the best method. How about offering a discount voucher for the recomender if their recomendee becomes a customer? People like stuff with discounts or for free as we all know!0 -
