Hello Brides
I'm getting married on the 28th December after being together for about 11 years. so excited.
The church is booked but that's about it, have been looking at reception venues and am going to look at dresses this weekend. H2B has been looking at suits, well I've told him what to look at (is that bad?! I'm not a complete control freak honest, lol)
I want a White on white winter wonderland sort of theme. I too want branches to line the isle and to decorate the reception venue.
I'm thinking white peonies for flowers and table dec's.
Can you tell I'm excited? :j:j:j:j:jhi0 -
How are all my fellow December brides getting on with their planning!? We now have church, venue, photographer, dress, suits and honeymoon. DJ is in the process of being picked, as are invitations. Trying to find makeup/hair etc as want to get things booked as soon as possible with it being so near to Christmas, don't want people to get booked up!Debt free (if you don't count the mortgage!)0

Hi Rachie and all!
I cannot believe we are in April already - time is flying by!
I have had an interesting few months - the company that runs my venue went into liquidation, the company that owns the venue have offered to honour the wedding, but we dont feel we can trust them.
So... we have had to change our whole wedding! We were having all elements of the wedding at the old venue, so we had a hastened search to find a new one. Luckily, a venue that has only recently opened was available which we went to as part of a works do and we loved it! This also means we are now able to have our ceremony in a Church, just around the corner from us.
So even though its been crazy, I think it'll be worth changing it - at least I am more secure in my mind and not risking staying at the new venue!
I am now having to change all the invites, the wedding website, cancel the registrar we had booked (and pay them to cancel!) etc.
I am hoping we are getting our deposit back from the old venue through our credit card / wedding insurance - god am I glad I took it out!
Look forward to an update from everyone else x0 -

Hi me-charlotte - I have only just seen your post - not only are we getting married on the same day - we are having a similar theme! I too am having a winter wonderland theme - we are having tree/branch centrepieces, icy blue lighting and vases filled with silver glitter branches covering the venue and church. We are including some navy in our theme too - bridesmaids / grooms party etc are wearing it, our cake is navy as is my bouquet.
Look forward to swapping ideas0 -

Hi Catalunya,
Wow what a busy few months you have had! Sounds like you have managed to turn it all around and make it a better situation for yourselves, so glad you have found another venue. I think you were right not to trust the original company, I know personally I would have been worrying from start to finish that they weren't going to keep their promise! I hope you get the money back from the cancellations! Good luck with the rest of the planning (have you got your dress?!):jDebt free (if you don't count the mortgage!)0
