Despite advertising an event as free entry before 11pm on their website, we were charged £8 at 9pm! Tried to argue the point but they didn't want to know. Loads of people must have been peeved off because at 10pm they lowered the price to £5 but didn't offer a refund to the £8ers!! Was gonna have a winge to someone today.. but they have taken it off the site - https://www.get-loaded.co.uk
Oh and the bouncer on the door thought he was god. He told the queue to keep to the right so we all shuffled over and then he lifted his arms and shouted.. "Didn't I just tell you all to keep to the right... move right move right" So we all put our backs against the wall, single file and breathed in..??.. i mean what did he want. We did laugh at him though coz he looked a right tw*t!
rant over.

 bouncers really annoy me.
a few weeks ago a friend and i were on the way to a work night out and a bouncer refused us entry to a pub in glasgow.
we asked why, he just said "you arent getting in, theres no particular reason"
i said to him thats not good enough, i have arranged to meet friends here tonight for a colleagues leaving do who had an area of the pub booked out. he asked who it was, i gave the name and he said no-one of that name is in. so i phoned my colleague and she came up the stairs and 'vouched' for us.
still wouldnt let us in
eventually he said, ok wait until my mate gets here
5 minutes later another bouncer turns up.... "can we let these two in?"
"aye no bother" says the second guy .... and in we go
what on earth is that about???? inflated sense of importance the lot of them.
really infuriates me0 -
bouncers deserve a good slapping.
top set the scene i am a bloke of 23, nearly 24, 5'9'' about 10 stone.
in all fairness i look about 21-22, but whenever i go into a certain nightclub (which is a dive and i only go there 'cos my friends do) i get bouncers trying to kick off.
typical night:
group meets up, males aged 18-25 (about half a dozen) and females of 18-21 (about half a dozen), get to the club (non of us asked for i.d up to this point), bouncers ogle the women (some of whoms boyfriends are there) but let the girls in, no questions asked.
the men arrive and anyone smaller than the bouncer gets stopped, including me- typical night
*bouncer steps in front of me*
him- "id!"
me (surprised) "me?"
him "yeah, you"
me "no disrespect mate but i am 23, i'm the oldest one here"
him "you're not gettin' in without id"
me "fair enough"
*i pass bouncer driving license (full) he snatches it off me, makes a point of double checking old picture is me, and year of birth is 1981, just as i stated. he hands me back id, i am humiliated in front of the rest of the queue, behind me some 16 year old girls with low cut tops and short skirts get in no questions asked*
every time i go, without fail i am used as a pawn to make some snotty nosed neandathol (uaually younger than me) look good in front of the opposite sex. i know they abuse their power, i have worked in the licensed trade.things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back thenMercilessKiller wrote: »BH is my best mate too, its ok
I trust BH even if he's from Manchester..

i try to take it as a complimentor else it just annoys me all night

whats weird is in my town, the only place i need id is there, and the only people who get asked are men, smaller than the bouncers.
i end up taking id whenever anyone even mentions going there, even if i am driving just so i can get in.
they tried to ruin my 23rd birthday by not letting me in without id, ironic when two of my friends i was with were 31 and 26!
:rotfl:
they make max and paddy from phoenix nights look like professionals.

Well I work as a "bouncer" as you put it, although the term is door supervisor.
I work by a rule that if you look under 21 you are going to need ID girls as well.
As for not giving a reason we don't have to we can refuse admission to anyone without giving a reason. In your case I would say that the person that refused you entry was either a trainee or a muppet because if you are refused at the door the member of the door team will give you a reason. Venue maybe full, trainers, under the influence of drink etc a common misconception is that people often think when they are pi**ed they can go into a pub. it is against the law to enter a licensed premises whilst under the influence of drink.
The point of "bouncers need a good slapping" that's fair enough you are entitled to your opinion - I wouldn't though, door staff are there to do a job if you feel that they are not doing the job correctly let the manager of the venue know but trust me if you do it after 10 pints and are not polite expect the manager to walk away from you and several door staff to drag you out.
"inflated sense of importance the lot of them" - I do it for the money!
"to make some snotty nosed Neanderthal" - I have an iq of 119, but also 2 black belts in different martial arts
I always to a group of lads that look a bit lively don't do anything in here you wouldn't do at home, that makes them feel comfortable and me feel comfortable.
I guess no one will bother to look at this and that is fine, everyone is entitled to an opinion and that is mine.
Thank you folks - goodnight (something I always say to people, even when they are locked up going through a fire exit, customer service!)0 -
bandit - nice to see a different viewpoint. Same as with any profession, there's good door supervisers and bad ones. Shame that the bad ones give everyone a bad rep, ATEOTD, you're just doing your job.
Bouncers are usually fine with me, although I get annoyed when out with my younger brother and sister and I'm the one who gets ID'd!! A cheeky grin and flutter of eyelashes used to work (until I actually turned 18 and got some genuine ID :P)
Although, bouncers have a habit of having a go at my OH. Just cos he's 6'5" and 20 stone, they think he's gonna cause trouble, even if it's just the two of us (despite the fact he's soft as grease!). Also, little blokes have a go at OH to make themselves look better and bouncers always presume it's OHs fault cos of how he looks.0 -

My male friend has the same problem when he visits us and we hit town, doormen take one look and turn him away. He's a gentle giant and hardly drinks, perfect customer if you ask me.bluesnice wrote:Despite advertising an event as free entry before 11pm on their website, we were charged £8 at 9pm! If it happens again have a copy of the advert to hand and moan to your local trading standards.:idea:I got an idea, an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about:idea:0
