Another Equidebt Problem...

Until they can be bothered to provide that promised answer, then can't see that you have anything else to say to them?
I hope everyone has had a Merry Xmas!
Equidebt have come back with a response. First off they disagree that they ignored our request for more information, which made us chuckle.
As part of the new correspondence they sent through, Equidebt have included a copy of the Txt Loan credit agreement. From what we can see, the name, address and date of birth is that of my wife, BUT the bank details specified are for an account that we have no association or knowledge of.
Where does this leave us now? Is it all possible that the credit agreement has been faked by Txt Loan? Or is it more likely that someone has fraudulently taken a loan out in my wife's name?
What next? Do we proceed and fill out the Txt Loan fraud form?
NB. The letter I mentioned in the previous post was in fact a fraud form from Txt Loan, and not Equidebt as I said.
As ever, any help on this matter is greatly appreciated.0 -
What does it say on you credit report? There is no chance that you or your wife forgot about this?
I would fill out their form omitting my bank details and accompany it wi a letter telling them to jog on (or something similar). Anyone can provide a piece of paper with a name and address on it, it doesn't mean you're responsible and you don't have to help them at all.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it

I have checked the credit report; it comes back as excellent with no credit check being made by Txt Loan.
Not wanting to engage with two different companies on this matter, I have opted to send the stern letter to Equidebt and, for the time being at least, ignore the Txt Loan claim form.
I'll keep this thread updated with progress.
Thanks again to everybody who has chipped in with their advice and expertise. :T0 -
Guys,
The plot thickens... Or at least the cycle begins again.
Since sending the 'stern' letter to Equidebt on 15th January I have heard nothing further from them (for the time being anyway).
BUT on Saturday (26th January), my wife received a letter from another company, Advantis. This letter is to all intents and purposes a copy of the original one sent by Equidebt. (As in it is a demand for payment of the same amount, on behalf of the same company and threatens court and/or baliff actions if payment is not made in 7 days).
My theory (please correct me if I am wrong), is that Equidebt have now passed this debt on to yet another company, who are starting the process again.
I have a few questions that I would appreciate your help with:
a) Is my theory likely to be the case?
b) Do I start by sending the 'prove it' letter to this fresh company?
c) OR, do I deal now with Txt Loan directly? Or another agency?
d) Is this now case for harassment? If so, who do I contact?
This is, quite understandably, causing my wife some considerable stress, so I would like to get it sorted ASAP.
As always, thanks for your help in advance.0
