Moving to smaller property how do I find best deal?

I am soon to move from a large 4 bed house to a small 2 bed flat. Although I will be renting I have been told I can choose my own suppliers. As I don't have any bills to compare how can I choose best tariffs?

All help appreciated

Thank you

Use any comp site with average kWh figures, and select any tariff as current.. The average will depend on what sort of heating and hot water system you have in the new property, it may be electricity only if a flat, so possibly E7?
As to suppliers, you are in a deemed contract with the existing suppliers until you switch. So take opening reads and register with them on day one. A switch will take 4-6 weeks.
Of course you can choose your suppliers. It's no concern of your LL, since it's you that owns the account.

Take a wild guess...Just use the average figures for the moment and don't pick a long term fix until you have a better idea of your usage. What is your current usage at the moment? Will you be keeping al the same electrical applicances if so then just use your current electric usage figures and for gas you could use your current figures maybe deducting 20% for the smaller property but it'll just be wild guess as the boiler and property could be better or it could be worse and use more gas than you currently use.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

For a property with gas CH and DHW, start with 16,500 kWh of gas and 3,300kWh of electricity.
E7 is a bit more complex.
