There's always the possibility that someone decided to let your tyres down the night before.

Even if this isn't the case, the dealer will likely claim that the tyres were fine when you left the forecourt and that anyone could have let them down.

Annoyed any of the local kids lately?.

To be fair to op, I wouldn't have thought to check tyre pressures on a 3 day old car, nor would I check them after a service....that's what I paid the service fee for.

You are exactly the kind of person who should not be driving IMO, someone who expects everyone else to look out for them, to hold their hand.
The day to day, week to week maintenance of your car is down to YOU, and if you have an accident, then the police may well find that your car is unroadworthy, and the only person they will blame is -

    YOU!

Get over yourself. If I have taken a car into a garage for a full service it is reasonable to assume that the car has been correctly maintained. A "normal" person would not expect to check tyre pressures the day after having their car serviced, granted the next week, but not within the first few days. I don't want anyone to hold my hand but I do expect the garage to have performed all elements of the service to a competent and satisfactory level.
I bet your garage loves you, do you actually get the car off their property before checking the tyre pressures, checking brakes have been replaced, checking oil level, checking sufficient coolant is in place, checking water levels are full, because if you don't let's hope you don't get pulled over by the police on the way home from having your car serviced!

And really, who on here can honestly say that they really would check their tyre pressures the same day after a service?

Can you post a link to the defence of using a defective vehicle when returning from a service.

I dont believe I said there was a defence, what I said was that most normal people do not check tyre pressures before leaving a garage where a service has been carried out.

Right, back to the real world. 15psi and the tyres would look like pancakes and the steering respond like a steam roller.
