Link?
500gig you mean I think
- should be able to store anything you like it on it if its just a hard drive. 500gig SSD drive or normal drive? Smaller SSD cost less - so it depends on how much storage you need roughly.
sorry the link is very small its the number 1 but here it is again

That is a standard hard drive - not SSD. If you are going to keep it one place (not move it too much), it should be ok for your needs. Personally I would prefer Western Digital or at least want to know what make the hard drive is inside that Toshiba branded casing.have the prices started to come down yet? SSD prices seem to be sticking too high - did come down a bit but not enough to waste £100+ for 128gig . Amazon has one 120gig drive for £75. Think I will wait till it gets down to £20 :-)0 -
Just remember hard drives fail...
I bought an extradrive.. Transferred all my photo's and familiy video's to it.
Then it died.. It was only a few weeks old.. I had to do a full data recovery on the PC to get back the files i deleted.
All family photo's are now mirrored onto 2 drives.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
thanks, i was wondering if i would have room to do a full back up on this.
if you have less than 500Gb of used space, yes.
You could probably fit a few full backups on (using the disk image option of macrium)

write the photos to dvd too, and leave them on the c: drive, then you have 3 or more copies, and an easy way to reinstall everything onto the laptop!!
