But what if you can't reach an agreement with yourself? Then you're both stuck!
On a serious note, if you are going to list something it's 10p listings day on Thursday 19th April. Very useful if you're selling something of a higher value.Pardonez mois, mais votre cheval est dans mon cochon d'inde.

thanks for the tip on the 10p listing day :j
Hi there Megan, I think somebody on here has already mentioned the Ebay & Car Boot threads on here and I think there may be some information for new sellers on there and there are some good experts over there if you need advice. Also for books, DVD's and Cd's try Amazon ( I find it much easier than Ebay  ) you can also sell books on Green Metropolis, both Amazon & GM do not charge for you to list the items but charge a fee at the end ( for amazon ) and a fixed fee for GM.
I recently got round to selling some stuff on Ebay, about 50% of the items sold and I made about £50 - £60 on selling them. You can make money but sometimes it can be hassle although £50 is better in your pocket than nothing

Ive sold a fair bit on ebay over the last few years with my main selling ID having about 7500 feedback, the best advice i can give is use up all the available space for your title, if selling clothes include the size, and dont waste space with things like L@@K, add the brand name as well if you can. look at every word in the title being a search term
IE
BLACK HALTERNECK TOP RIVER ISLAND SIZE 14
will be picked up on any searches for black, halterneck, river island, 14 & top and any combination of these black top, river island 14 etc wheras if you put
L@@K fab nearly new top SZ14 bargain ( or something like that ! ) you will only appear if someone searches for L@@K, fab, nearly new, top or SZ14 if you need to abriviate the size make sure you put a space inbetween SZ and 14 ( SZ 14 )
Might be teaching granny to suck eggs here but so many people dont realise !*Spendi*
Ebay Total since Feb ~ £466.90
Quidco Earnings £288
Pigsback Vouchers £40 330 piggy points
Boots 1796 Points

My top tip is do your research. Search for similar items to the one you are thinking of selling and tick the 'completed listings' box to see how much other similar ones have gone for. It's also useful for working out p&p if every other seller is charging roughly the same, but best to double-check yourself on kitchen scales using the post office website if you're not sure.

My advice is to take the best pictures that you can, it really does make a difference to the buyer's impression (concious and sub-conscious) of your item.
Use the best quality camera that you can.
Take the photos in daylight as the colours will appear as they are and the whole picture will have a lighter, more positive feel.
If you're photographing clothes don't lie them on your bed and then stand at the end... you get the funniest distortion and the buyer's not going to imagine themselves wearing it :rotfl: Stand on a chair to get high up and as directly above the clothes as you can, or hang them on good quality hangers against a clean surface or in front of a window if its not too bright.
Make the item fill the image so that you show as mcuh detail as possible... pictures are not displayed very big on ebay and buuyers like to be able to see what they're bidding on!
