E-bay virgin!!!

I'm looking to sell on E-bay for the first time. Bought quite a few things over the last few years, but always been too scared to look at selling!

However, lots of people mention it on this site as a way to make some money and I think I've got some stuff/junk that I may well be able to shift.

Has anyone got any tips or advice for a first timer?

Any tips welcomed!

I've sold a few things, but given it up in favour of car-boot sales. You can make more money on Ebay, but the wrapping, taking to the post office can be a hassle if you work long hours.

My main tip would be - don't underestimate p & p costs - I did so and ended up paying one guy to take some things off me!

Also - beware that selling will mean that you'll be online a lot, checking how you are doing - take care not to spend your profits by buying whilst online!!

Small items, thin collectible paperbacks do well and are easy to post.

I know that feeling very well, I got that sick of seeing the "for sale pile" getting bigger, I told him to show me what to do, I now have my own account and have so far made £58.00, not brilliant I know, but its a start, and the pile has reduced no end!
    Good luck!

Hiya and good luck with your selling on eBay.
I have been doing it for years now-first as a part of the retail part of my business.I now sell stuff of my own.I either buy joblots for resale or redundant stuff at home.
Due to my work commitments I will only post out on Mon/Tues of each week and state this in my listings-this saves time at the PO and you can do it all in one go.

Ebay is great!!! It can require some persistance to begin with but once you're up and running it is great, you'd be surprised what makes money on there!! Go for it!

    That's naughty!
Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.
