I have been sent a video as WIMP and cannot play it,can i change it so it will play and how?

I think WIMP is the Windows Live Movie Maker project file, so you'd need to open it in that program and publish it as a WMV or something you can play. Have a search for "WIMP video format"0

It does say project file,i tried to open it in WMV and it cant play it0

That's because you need to open it in Windows Movie Maker (as previously said) and THEN publish it as a WMV file.
What version of Windows do you have? (In some it is installed by default, or available as an installable option. Or a free download is available).

I have Windows 7 home premium,once it is opened in WMV where do i click to publish it as WMV0
