Argos say if you buy a netbook from them you only have 30 days and only if it is faulty to return it to them, can they do this. There is a one year warranty with the makers of the netbook but i thought the contract was with the seller.

Can you expand a bit on what you mean when you say 'Argos say'? Is it someone in Argos saying this/in their Terms & Conditions? I suspect they mean they will replace if there is a fault inside 30 days and send it back to the manufacturer after 30days for repair.0 -

That'd be for an automatic swap/refund.
Any longer would be a repair from the manufacturer. There are also consumer laws, but sometimes it's easier/more beneficial to pursue the warranty.0 -

My wife asked about it and the store said you can only return it to us if there is a fault and only within 30 days, after 30 days they said it is the problem of the netbook manufacturer.0 -
After 30 days then, you can force Argos to take the netbook from you, but all they will do is ring the manufacturer and send it off to them. It's often easier for you to ring the manufacturer yourself and arrange the repair.
Your rights are with Argos though, so you they have to provide you with a remedy if that's what you so desire.0 -
That is what i was thinking,i thought my contract was with the seller,in this case Argos0
