Hypothetical question

There is a long road near my local station, unsuprisingly people often park here and hop on the train. There are a few sets of bays and in the few years I've lived here the rules have been the same, pay and display between 10am-12pm. There are a few bays along the road but where I usually park, towards the start (for me) of the road they have removed all of the ticket machines. There are signs saying pay and display but no advice on where to locate a machine.
To find a machine you have to walk (5 minute walk each way, for me this would add 10-15ish minutes in the morning and evening) past a hospital, side roads and a reasonably long stretch with no parking at all. I've been parking with a note on my windscreen saying no ticket due to no machine, and as yet (5 weeks) I haven't had a ticket. I must say other people do pay and display so they must either do all of the faffing around or they drive past the machines and it's easy for them to pick one up
I anticipate one day getting a ticket and I'm just wondering what happens then?
I don't mind paying the cost of parking if I have to but the machines are just in an awkward place and it would annoy me no end to go and get one each day.

Look on it as a bit of excersise each day and it's good for you.
(why would you need to go to the machine in the evening, surely you would just get into your car and go)
If there are parking charges and machines, you will one day get a ticket, it's up to you.
Or find somewhere else to park.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

the evening mention is being being an idiot
So far I've saved over £60 in parking so paying a ticket isn't a problem.
Just seems very silly and undoubtedly infrequent visitors will be caught outYes Your Dukeiness0 -
But you could park there next week and get a ticket every day.
10 minute walk each day - dont be such a wimp.
I bet if you did actually get a ticket, you wouldnt want to pay it even if you could afford it.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I've paid any other ticket in my life so why wouldn't i?
The day I get a ticket I will pay and display, not rocket science. Surely the council have a duty to be clear and unambiguous in situations such as thisYes Your Dukeiness0 -

I'd suggest that a citizen has the responsibility to pay for parking when it's obvious you need to. Laziness is hardly an excuse. All aboard the Gus Bus !0
